Won’t be able to make tonight unfortunately - prepping for industrial strike tomorrow…really enjoyed the course and watching the solos - I’m not that confident yet - although I can play a few tunes in a band setting. Will def be doing more courses along w/my lessons here in Galway…

My attempt at a solo!
Sorry for the stressy huff at the beginning - I kept cocking it up and decided this was my last attempt. I still messed up a little but never mind. As the saying goes, 597th time's a charm.

I can definitely relate to that Huff you mentioned, I have to cut out right before I start recording yet another take, I’m usually cutting out me cussing at how frustrated I was by the last take 🤣 great job!

Groove Control + Paradiddle Fills Over “Voices Inside My Head” (0:00–1:30)
Here’s a short groove study inspired by “Voices Inside My Head” by The Police. The video is split into three clear sections:
0:00 – 0:37: Extract of the original groove feel, focusing on the hypnotic pulse and hi‑hat texture.
0:37 – 0:52: Groove variations with paradiddle‑style fills, accent shifts, and linear ideas.
0:52 – 1:30: Same concept repeated: groove + paradiddleish fills to build flow, control, and consistency.
I’m using this as a practice routine to work on pocket, ghost‑note control, and Copeland‑inspired articulation. Exploring paradiddles inside a groove and practicing to develop smoother transitions between time and fills.
28 days and… still grooving.
